PT Deca Metric Medica reaffirms its commitment to supporting Indonesia’s health independence and resilience by participating in the Health Innovation Festival (HAI Fest), held in conjunction with the 60th National Health Day (HKN) from November 7 to 9, 2024, at Hall-B, Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Jakarta.
Through its parent company, PT Medela Potentia Tbk, the event showcased several flagship products, including Stardec Decafix, Stardec Decamed-T, and Stardec Decaplast.
These products are manufactured at PT Deca Metric Medica’s medical device manufacturing facility, a subsidiary officially inaugurated by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, in December 2023.
The company also provided product socialization and education about high domestic component content (TKDN) quality medical devices to attendees and visitors.
In his remarks, the Minister of Health emphasized that the development of the pharmaceutical industry, medical devices, and healthcare services will be strongly supported to boost domestic industry growth. This aligns with the third pillar of health transformation, focusing on building a resilient health system.
“The pandemic has taught us about the limitations in the supply of medical devices and medicines. With a population exceeding 280 million, Indonesia must be prepared to meet urgent demands for medicines, vaccines, ventilators, and personal protective equipment (PPE). Therefore, we are committed to strengthening the domestic pharmaceutical and medical device industries to create a resilient and safe health system in preparation for future pandemics,” the Minister said.
The opening ceremony of the 60th National Health Day was also attended by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Mr. Pratikno; the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono; and other key stakeholders from the Ministry of Health.
In his speech, the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs highlighted the government’s focus on building Indonesia’s health resilience through locally produced medicines and medical devices.
“Innovation must continue to be developed beyond health science researchers. The government has also instructed the Ministry of Health to prioritize budget allocation for domestic product procurement,” stated Minister Pratikno.
National Health Resilience Through Domestic Health Industry Independence
With over four decades of trusted service in delivering quality healthcare products and services, PT Medela Potentia Tbk’s President Director, Mr. Krestijanto Pandji, emphasized the company and its subsidiaries’ commitment to supporting national health independence, particularly through a strong distribution system and beneficial technological innovation.
Through its subsidiary PT Deca Metric Medica, Medela Potentia promotes the independence of Indonesia’s pharmaceutical and medical device industry by manufacturing essential medical devices such as wound dressings, one of the most in-demand medical supplies in the country.
PT Deca Metric Medica produces a range of medical devices including Stardec DecaFix, which serves as an additional fixation for primary wound dressings, fixation for large wounds in joint areas, and tubing fixation. The company also manufactures Stardec DecaMed, a wound dressing with an absorbent pad designed for post-operative wound care. Another product is Stardec DecaPore, a paper tape with dispenser used for lightweight tubing fixation and wound dressing. Additionally, Stardec DecaCare is an antiseptic surgical scrub product.
The company produces latex-free protective wound plasters that are safe for sensitive skin, including pediatric plasters under the Stardec DecaPlast Character Zoo Party series and waterproof plasters branded Stardec Decaplast Waterproof.
PT Deca Metric Medica also offers toll manufacturing services to both national and international partners. “Our advanced technology and machinery enable us to produce high-quality products efficiently,” added Mr. Krestijanto Pandji.
